Does a View created in Information Steward store data locally?

Hello guys,

I have a question about Views created in Information Steward using tables in a application database. Does it store data locally in the IS repository or does it work like a View in Oracle database, that every time we try to get data from the View the IS server fires a query to the corresponding database?
