I am new to shared variables and was told this would be the best way to capture what I need for specific capture of some data. In our system we have what we call flowsheet rows which contain certain data. In our case the first row captures an 'activity' of the patient (ambulate in hall, ambulate in room, and chair) There are other values but we only want these certain activities. These activities are selected from a dropdown list and selected. Once the activity is selected the user then fills in how far they ambulated in feet. So for example they ambulated in the hall and went 3 feet. I need to capture the ambulate in hall activity and the feet. Currently I have all 3 activities in 3 separate sub-reports. The problem is the 'feet' value is in a totally different flowsheet row. So, I can get the value of ambulate in hall but I cannot link the feet to that particular activity. We were told a shared variable would work to pass values from the sub-report to the main report or vice versa. Thanks.
