Currently we are on BPC 10.0 NW Standard Model with EPM SP15 (.NET Framework 3.5) version and planning to upgrade the EPM to SP22 (.NET Framework 4.0) version. The reason we want to go with .NET Framework 4.0 version is that it supports Microsoft Office 64-bit and Large Volume Data Sources.
Installation prerequisites in Section 3.2 of the installation guide at the following location states that
SAP EPM solutions, add-in for Microsoft Office 10.0 – SAP Help Portal Page
If you want to install the EPM Add-in standard version on a Microsoft .NET framework 4.0, you must first ensure that the Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 is installed. Otherwise, the application will not function properly.
When we ran the .NET check on our users' machines, we see that most of them are Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended followed by Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2
My questions are actually two fold:
First
- Do the above frameworks already include Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1? I couldn't find this information on the Microsoft website.
- On few test machines that currently show Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended, we have installed SP22 (.NET Framework 4.0) version. On some machines it installed fine and BPC functionality seems to be working fine whereas on some other machines the installation is throwing FMXL libraries VBA error (Can't find project or library). There is no difference in the configuration of the machines on which the installation is working vs not working, which stumps us.
Second
- If the above frameworks do not include Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1, is the following the correct .NET 3.5 SP1 software? Our IT team is unable to help in this regard.
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 from Official Microsoft Download Center
- I tried to install the above software on the test machines on which SP22 installation is not working. After the install, I still don't see .NET 3.5 in the "Installed Programs" on those machines.
Any help is greatly appreciated. If this is not the correct forum then please point me to the correct one. Thanks!
